Cuba: An African Odyssey Friday 30 November, 2.30pm, SBS TV This is the previously untold story of Cuba's support for African revolutions. The documentary unravels the story of the so-called Cold War, through the prism of its least known arena: Africa. Against colonialism, capitalism, and communism, the newly independent nations attempted, for the first time, to gain real control of their own countries. (PG, Repeat)
Global Village Friday 30 November, 6pm, SBS TV The Fulani people of northern Cameroon are the last of Black Africa's great horsemen. Originally a nomadic people, they put their exceptional horsemanship and fierceness in battle at the service of Islam and converted great parts of Africa before establishing their own kingdom. Their traditions and knowledge are passed from generation to generation. In this film, viewers meet 11-year-old Abdu as he learns to ride a horse and be a great warrior so he can serve his king, the Lamido. Presented by Silvio Rivier.
The Lion Man 30 November, 6.30pm, ABC TV
Follow the joys and frustrations of Craig Busch and his partner Karen as they rear and interact with the cats at Zion Wildlife Gardens in far-north New Zealand in a very close and personal manner.

Cutting Edge: Running from Mugabe Monday 3 December, 1.35pm, SBS TV This film looks at the world of paranoia and fear, following some of the thousands of Zimbabweans who enter South Africa illegally every week. As Zimbabwe's political and economic crisis deepens, victims of President Robert Mugabe's violent regime are being forced to flee for their lives. But even in South Africa they can not escape the terror of the regime. Many live in fear of Zimbabwe's feared Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) - the country's secret police who are widely suspected of conducting surveillance operations outside Zimbabwe's border. Rumours of death squads and kidnappings are rife. In English, Shona.
Unlikely Travellers: Journey Monday 3 December, 8pm, SBS TV Unlikely Travellers is a remarkable three-part documentary series of six fabulous adventurers, each with a unique and challenging intellectual disability. Episode three has the troupe on a non-stop itinerary in Egypt, which includes Cairo, the Nile, Abu Simbel, the temple of Sobak, Luxor, the Pyramids and a dawn trek up Mount Sinai.
